Day-Wise Itinerary

Option 1 - Kaziranga & Guwahati

Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati

  • Arrive at Guwahati airport/railway station.
  • Visit the famous Kamakhya Temple (one of the 51 Shakti Peethas).
  • Evening: Sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra River with live music & views of Peacock Island.
  • Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 2: Guwahati → Kaziranga (5 hrs)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Drive to Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Check-in at resort/lodge.
  • Evening: Witness an Assamese Bihu cultural dance performance (subject to availability).
  • Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 3: Kaziranga Safari Day

  • Early morning: Elephant safari (central or western range) → Spot one-horned rhinoceros, swamp deer, elephants, and migratory birds.
  • Return to resort for breakfast.
  • Afternoon: Jeep safari in another range of the park for more wildlife exploration.
  • Evening free to relax.
  • Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 4: Tea Estate & Orchid Garden → Return to Guwahati

  • Breakfast at resort.
  • Visit a tea estate – see plantations & experience Assam’s tea culture.
  • Explore the Kaziranga Orchid & Biodiversity Park – orchids, medicinal plants & cultural exhibits.
  • Afternoon: Drive back to Guwahati.
  • Overnight stay in Guwahati.

Day 5: Guwahati Departure

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Optional visits (time permitting): Umananda Temple on Peacock Island or Assam State Museum.
  • Transfer to airport/railway station for onward journey.

Option 2 - Kaziranga & Majuli

Day 1: Arrival Guwahati → Kaziranga

  • Arrive at Guwahati.
  • Drive to Kaziranga National Park (approx. 5 hrs).
  • Check-in at resort/lodge.
  • Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 2: Kaziranga Safari + Transfer to Majuli

  • Early morning: Jeep or elephant safari at Kaziranga.
  • Breakfast at the resort.
  • Drive to Jorhat (approx. 2 hrs).
  • Take a ferry ride across the Brahmaputra to reach Majuli Island.
  • Evening free to explore the river island.
  • Overnight stay in Majuli.

Day 3: Majuli Exploration

  • Breakfast at homestay/resort.
  • Visit Satras (monasteries) – centers of Vaishnavite culture.
  • Explore the mask-making village at Samaguri Satra.
  • Visit tribal villages & witness pottery and handloom crafts.
  • Experience Majuli’s rich cultural traditions.

Day 4: Majuli → Jorhat / Kaziranga

  • Morning free for a short village walk.
  • Ferry back to Jorhat.
  • Depending on preference:
    • Stay overnight in Jorhat (close to airport).
    • Or drive back to Kaziranga (for another night near the park).
  • Overnight stay in Jorhat/Kaziranga.

Day 5: Departure

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Transfer to Jorhat or Guwahati airport for onward journey.

Option 3 - Guwahati & Shillong with Kaziranga

Day 1: Arrival Guwahati → Drive to Shillong (100 km / 3 hrs)

  • Arrive at Guwahati.
  • Visit Kamakhya Temple if time permits.
  • Drive to Shillong, with a photo stop at Umiam Lake (Barapani).
  • In Shillong, visit Ward’s Lake, Don Bosco Museum (optional), and Police Bazaar for shopping.
  • Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 2: Shillong → Cherrapunji Excursion

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Full-day excursion to Cherrapunji (54 km / 2 hrs).
  • Explore Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sisters Falls, and Eco Park.
  • Evening return to Shillong.
  • Overnight stay in Shillong.

Day 3: Shillong → Kaziranga (7 hrs drive)

  • Breakfast at hotel.
  • Drive to Kaziranga National Park (long scenic drive).
  • Check-in at lodge/resort and evening at leisure.
  • Overnight stay in Kaziranga.

Day 4: Kaziranga Safari → Return to Guwahati

  • Early morning elephant safari in Kaziranga.

  • Jeep safari in another zone of the park.
